It’s a good start

Shoeboxed helps me digitized my paper receipts. However, that’s the use of it. I can’t manually add an expense to track it. You need to export all the receipts and import them to your accounting software to integrate back to the big picture. Most decent accounting software will let you attach your scanned receipt. So, the only value I see in Shoeboxed is the automatic processing got the receipt content, which takes a long time to get processed.
